Crime and other scary stuff...

I cannot describe my panic. Inside I am burning with anxiety, pain, fear. Mostly that my words may offend people. Or that I will be threatened with violence against me or people or things that I hold dear. We no longer live in a free society. We can no longer speak truths that were once understood universally as fact. And the worst thing is our silence.

Having been a victim of domestic abuse. Which I should point out was mental abuse. Because I do think there is a distinct separation. Its horrific that a society has bred a culture of women who say they were not "beaten" physically that they only had to endure the assault of their character and soul. Because that is terrible enough. To add physical assault on top of that, is a concept that I only hope will not fall upon me. We women and girls are also survivors, but our wounds cannot be seen by others. It is not a competition. It is horrific that when women are 'only' sexually assaulted. The first thought they have is, 'i'm lucky I wasn't raped'. The worst thing is, that is not an abnormal thing, for a woman to think. And that, our society is becoming ever more increasingly conditioned to the prospect that sexual assault, and violent crimes against women is something which should be accepted. Because why not? They are probably poor, white kids that nobody cares about! The lack of care towards children who live on and below the lines of poverty, and not because their parents don't care or don't work. Because they have been priced out of the property market. Because their utilities keep rising. If they live in London they have had to find an extra £12.50 per day for ULEZ fines. (Please tell me, just how paying 12.50 is helping the air quality, lets see the stats on the invisible line inside and outside the magic clean air. And who the people are that are being saved each year)

It does not make every female a victim, nor every male a predator. However in the wrong situation the percentage of females will fall to victims of sexual assault and/or worse. They may not survive their attack and may not live to tell the story. But then even if they do, nothing happens. Having had to recall your attack your crime probably will not be heard again. At least not by a jury. The crown prosecution service will say something like, she is not a good witness, in other words there is not a perfect victim. 'She' might have had a drink, she might have been drugged, she she she, until she no longer exists. She is just another girl, telling the same old story. One which you probably cannot fathom could possibly be happen. Or when it does, perhaps you think, 'what is she talking about?', 'that's not that big of a deal'.

Anyway I digress. I am worried about the rising crime in the country. I am worried about us importing many people who do not not, not just not believe in our values and beliefs. They wish to not be a part of the culture at all, they wish to bring the culture of the place they are fleeing. And impart it onto us. Why when it clearly did not work for them. Why would they want to bring all the things from the country that had not provided them with a home to belong to. To learn about the history of the country you were now residing and wishing to be a part of. Why would you not want to embrace the new place you found yourself? These questions were once quietly spoken of behind closed doors, within families. Now they hang in the air, out in the open and thousands and thousands are now screaming the absurdity of it all. Their screams however are not loud, they are silent. They are silently flapping in the wind in all towns and cities across the country and the four nations. The immigration debate may be the one thing that brings Northern Ireland and Ireland into something they can agree on. Its not racism. Its the numbers. The mass of people is unsustainable. Which is why people are not intergrating. They are living in silos. As we always have done, as people. We congregate towards our own. Where intergration exists it has been managed so that all see the beauty in a shared sense of self.

Unfortunately with the internet, the progression to smart phones and the continued push in technology. everything is too fast. The world is shared too quickly and to too many people.

What have we gained by Tik Tok? I mean its a question one can ponder on. What have to lost since the internet? I watched a show earlier about tourism.

The locals are protesting in Ibiza, they have a population of 150,000 people. They can no longer afford to rent umbrellas at the beach in the summer months. Teachers are forced out of their owns to rent to tourists for three months in the year. Locals who work in the town are forced to live in caravans and away from their own children because they want them to have a better life somewhere else.

The gap between poor and wealthy is ever increasing. Its so sad. How much are we guilty of contributing to this suffering? I amount of tourists that visit in the summer months is 3,000,000 now that is an invasion.

There are too many people, wanting to go to, too many places. We take it for granted that we are 'entitled' to go wherever we want. Perhaps we should care more for our home, and be more selective about who comes to visit. For it is not about the colour of your skin, but the content of your character, someone important said that once. I think!!!!
